During the summer months there is always a great deal of activity occuring at Watergate Bay. There are surf boards and wind surfers and kites pulling all manner of craft. For those unwilling or unable to partake, these sports can be enjoyed from the cliff top.
Beyond Griffin's Point the interest shifts from sea to land. During some long past era the land above Beacon Cove buckled. It is now set in rock at extraordinary angles. Climb The Beacon and drop to Mawgan Porth.
Mawgan Porth is a friendly seaside community with none of the glitter of neighbouring Watergate Bay. It is a lovely spot to pause and unwind awhile.
A tiny area of wetlands can be observed on the inland section, its grasses billowing in the breeze. The route then rises through farmland to Trevarrian.
Rural tranquility mixes with the busyness of a discrete caravan park before picking up Trevarrian Hill to descend by road to the start.
