Although never completely flat, the coastline of this eight is comparitively gentle.
The route follows the coastal path to Plozeath. In doing so it passes breathtaking
scenery, the site of Iron Age hill fort and miles
of Cornish hedging. Polzeath is popular in summer months with well funded youth making
the cost of a cup of coffee in trendier cafes absurd. Loop a returns via a lane and a
road.
Loop b visits two peaceful bays - Lundy Bay and Epphaven. Lundy Hole is an
unusual formation where the sea has carved a small bay. The cliff top, refusing to fall,
forms an archway over the cove - an oddly beautiful feature.
Beyond Epphaven the route rises to the Bee Centre where anyone interested can watch
bees make honey over a reasonably priced coffee.
A stroll over undulating fields leads back to the coastal path. Briefly retrace the
route already taken before detouring to the very rural semi
wooded lane that heads back to the beginning.
