An incline on tarmac to and through Halgabron is alive with the flora and fauna of hedgerow. The route then plunges over undulating fields to a caravan site at Bossiney beyond which is the Tintagel to Boscastle road.

Bossiney lies to the north east of Tintagel. A rural lane leads through an avenue of dwellings to the coastal path, which briefly turns into a goat track as it descends towards Bossiney Haven. This rocky bay is popular with surfers. It can be accessed at low tide. Look out for what has become known as Elephant Rock - worn by the sea to resemble the head and trunk of an elephant - if you visit.

Beyond Benoath Cove lies the mouth of the river Trevillit. This is a fascinating spot to explore, with numerous water carved kieves and plenty of excellent picnic spots. Be careful though. The area is dangerous during rough weather. People have been lost to sea by going too close to the incoming waters.

Return along Rocky Valley, where Bronze Age carvings of labyrinth adorn the slate valley wall.
