At just one mile long, this is the shortest loop of the entire series. It is nonetheless packed with a variety of landscape.

Starting on tarmac the loop begins amongst farmland. Once, in the early morning while setting off on this loop, I saw a lone deer along the distant edges of one off road field where it is more usual to observe cattle.

A rough country lane with unkempt hedges then leads north to the top of Rusey Cliff from where views of the coast between Morwenstow in the north and Padstow to the west can be enjoyed.

Cows nuzzle the fence along the coast path to Buckator which is a lonely and beautiful spot almost touched by Gull Rock. This is wild and rugged farming contry mixed with nearby fruits of the sea. It is strange that these two neighbouring trades are so distant. Buckator, farmland, is a culture away from Boscastle, port and nearest town. Somehow that long and short space between can be keenly felt from the flat top of Buckator. An overgrown lane leads back to North Lodge.
