After starting on hard tarmac and skirting a caravan site, this loop soon finds quietude in a gently rising field. Poundstock emerges like a way marker from a mist shortly after the coast disappears from view.

A country lane, another field and a thin finger of Trebarfoote Woods beckons and embraces. This is like walking through a fairy tale - twisted trees filtering green daylight, low branches overhanging the path, the rustle of a wind.

And then, suddendly - Millook with rock sized shingle before an arduous climb to Bridwill Point. The coastal path falters in sections along the short stretch back to Wanson Mouth forcing walkers onto the road.

This is a reflective loop with plenty of contrast. Millook, though bleak in a mist, has moments of stunning beauty. The farmland sections are strangely haunting and the wood is mystical.

The going is moderate and there are no refreshment facilities.
